Safe, healthy, properly cooked

Food you can trust us with

Every meal your child eats at Handprints is cooked on-site by our own kitchen team to the highest food-safety and nutrition standards. Nothing arrives pre-prepared, nothing gets reheated on a trolley, and every menu is checked against the guidance we're required to follow.

5-star Food Hygiene rated

Our kitchens carry the highest Food Standards Agency rating — 5 out of 5 — awarded on independent local-authority inspection.

Cooked fresh, on-site, every day

Real ingredients, real cooking. Breakfast, hot lunch and afternoon snack are all prepared each morning by our trained kitchen team — never pre-packaged, never reheated from a central kitchen.

Aligned with early-years nutrition guidance

Menus are planned against the Department for Education's Eat Better, Start Better voluntary food and drink guidelines for early years, alongside Ofsted's Early Years Foundation Stage nutrition standards and any guidance we receive on inspection.

Level 2 & 3 Food Safety trained

Kitchen staff hold Food Safety & Hygiene certificates and a documented HACCP-based food-management plan is in place at every setting.

Every allergen tracked

A full allergen intake is taken at enrolment, held against every child's profile, and cross-checked against every meal before it's served. We cater for all 14 statutory allergens and any religious or cultural requirements.
